“I believe that beauty exists in insubordination.” From Bristol to Sevilla, from Haiti to Marseille, Rwandan and British artist Dorothée Munyaneza weaves together the intimate paths of six African or Afro-descendant black female artists. On stage, the costumes are a common thread in this multi-layered choral saga. The women are possessed by an unseen collective force that facilitates their meeting. Free-spirited and bold, they dance, sing and cry out the stories of marginalized people.
