Before she dances, Sonia Garcia acknowledges that the space in front of her has a memory: everything that happened there left its trace. Her body also contains the memories of everything she has ever seen or done. When the sensation materializes into an idea, she is compelled to move. She walks towards the record player and takes the vinyl out of its sleeve: Eliane Radigue’s Opus 17. In no specific order, the abstract forms compete with the expressionist gestures. It is literally a manifestation of how movement substantiates sound.
