Atlas invokes humanity’s daily struggle with stifling social pressures. Restrictions are generated by springs that disrupt the dancer’s movements. She attempts to liberate herself from the constraints, yet they violently resist complete expulsion since it is the springs’ stretching or contractions that create the sounds and the lighting of the performance.
