Kush K focuses mostly on the present. That feeling is omnipresent when listening to Lotophagi, the group’s first record from their intimate studio. Facing each other in half-light, the Zurich natives hoped to capture every moment of spontaneity that often emerges when creating music. Their indie-pop sound readily unravels with an inhabitual candor and rejects all digital alterations to keep only what is necessary. Striking at our core, their music encourages us to focus on the essential. It is the beauty of their occasionally surprising compositions that made Kush K one of the most innovative groups of the past few years and earned them the IndieSuisse Album of the Year award in 2020.
