PURPURA is an essential sonic presence by the telluric strength of her sets that blast furiously deep in the red with a joy and sense of NOISE formidably assumed and mastered” - Cave12 -

PURPURA is a solo sonic project of the visual and sound artist Andrea Nucamendi Siliceo born in Chiapas, México based in the Jura Mountains between Switzerland and France. She supports collectivity, inclusivity and anarchy. She approaches abstract electronic music with prepared improvisations of harsh soundscapes with extreme sensitivity to the space/time transmitted in SONIC CHAOS, looking for what she calls „opening portals of the underworld“. Using an analogue electronic device formed carefully with electronic instruments and effects, homemade oscillators, and feedback loops. She collaborates with the independent theater company Hemorragie in Geneva, on the creation of the sonic atmosphere for the stage adaptation of CRAVE of Sarah Kane and Le Prénom À Était Modifié of Perrine Le Querrec, co-acting with Lydia Lunch.

Some recent releases are on two of the best experimental electronic music labels of our times, Opal Tapes from the UK and in the compilation of Swiss Underground Experimental Music of Buh Records from Peru.
